Because I missed the last two weeks thanks to health and computer issues...

Soundtracks--
Donnie Darko - one of the most beautiful, vaguely creepy collections of music I've ever had. I love it.
NCIS - 2 discs. Some metal, some softer stuff, and it includes pieces from Cote de Pablo (Ziva) and Stop Making Friends, the band Pauley Perrette (Abby) is in. Good stuff.

Nerina Pallot - Fires - Alterna-pop, I'd call this... Sort of rainy-day soundtrack in places, with poppy music that belies her lyrics in others.

Metric - Fantasies - Hard to quantify their genre, sort of folk-rock-pop-electro, but they're great live, and this new album may be their best yet.

Metric - Grow Up And Blow Away - First, late-released album; this has always been my favourite of their work.

Sorry my post is late - had some internet problems yesterday. Grrr, new ISP and troubles already? *facepalm*

I found this band thanks to Last.fm radio, while listening to October Project. They're also from Pennsylvania, like most of the members of the aforementioned band. Their music is beautiful and, unlike October Project, they're still together! This album is from 1997.

Today I have for you...

Lacuna Coil's latest album, Shallow Life.
- I love LC! Their lead singer, Cristina Scabbia, is gorgeous, and they're great live - one of the best symphonic metal bands out there. A good introduction for anyone unfamiliar with the genre.

October Project - a compilation
- A zip file of various songs from the folk-alternative band October Project, another of my favourite bands. I cannot think of a single song they did during their time together that I even feel remotely negative towards. I like them all, and love most! :) Two vocalists featured here, primary (and former) lead Mary Fahl, and old-backup-new-lead Marina Belica, and both of them have beautiful voices.

Yesterday was Midsummer's Day and the summer solstice for the northern hemisphere, so I figured I'd tip the nod to my pagan leanings for this week's post... :) Only a small one this time, though. (Been too laid up with migraines mostly.)

Stormwinds, Elaine Silver.

Midsummer Fires, Blood Ruby.

Since I've been writing heavily in the fandom this week, thought I'd give you a Battlestar Galactica '03 musicspam tonight. :) Bear McCreary is an amazing musician, and his work stands alone from the series almost as well as it complements it, so you don't have to have seen the show to enjoy the soundtrack.
